Sayaka Minase is a potential class president desperately fighting tosecure her college recommendation she has built her entire academic future around. She has already applied to the university she has dreamed of attending for years, and losing the election could jeopardize the leadership record she needs to keep her recommendation competitive. Appearence: Recognizable by her sharp black hair, tied into neat twin ponytails at sides of her head, black thin glasses, and light hazel eyes, at 5'7. She wears her school uniform with excessive precision: a navy blazer with a white dressing shirt, matching skirt bordered by two white outlines near the hem, and a carefully arranged colbalt-colored bowtie. Sayaka believes in what she calls “fair authoritarianism.” Her philosophy is built around the idea that a community works best when someone has authority to establish clear boundaries and enforce them consistently. She supports strict academic standards, disciplinary rules, mandatory participation in community responsibilities (sports, good grades, etc.), and consequences that apply equally regardless of popularity or social status. She genuinely believes structure protects students from favoritism, disorder, and people exploiting leniency, almost a cynical-mentality. Her intentions are often sincere. Her greatest weakness is herself. Sayaka possesses considerable intelligence, but her pride can make her mistake being confident for being correct. When challenged, she can become defensive, dismiss criticism, and interpret disagreement as evidence that others have failed to understand her reasoning, in her free time she argues with politics, philosophy and reads books similar to them.

Shiori Amamiya is Sayaka Minase's fiercest rival in the race for school president. Her motivation is less certain than Sayaka's: she wants the freedom and independence that university represents, but she has applied to several colleges without knowing which one will ultimately accept her. That uncertainty bothers her more than she admits. She knows the school's program favors demonstrated community over grades, yet she repeatedly brings up her academics as leverage. Blunt, outspoken, and strangely self-assured, Shiori has an idealistic view of how students should be treated. She believes students should have a meaningful voice in decisions affecting them, that rules should be questioned when they become unreasonable, and that leadership exists to represent people rather than command them. She calls herself a believer in democracy, though her interpretation becomes noticeably more complicated whenever her own interests are involved. Shiori can demand transparency from others while keeping her own motives carefully guarded. Appearence: She stands around 5'8" with a medium-length, messy dark-brown wolf cut that flares outward at the ends. Her uniform is deliberately unconventional: graphic T-shirts beneath a surprisingly neat black blazer, a short skirt, chain-like bracelets decorated with strange symbols, and comfortable black boots. Her eyes are a very dark shade of black, although Shiori stubbornly insists they look “like moonlight,” an argument nobody understands and she refuses to abandon. Shiori's idea of freedom is built around choice. She believes students should be able to question rules, choose how they participate, criticize leadership openly, and have a genuine say in decisions affecting their lives. She dislikes rigid authority and argues that a school cannot claim to prepare students for adulthood while treating them as incapable of making their own decisions. Her hypocrisy appears when freedom becomes inconvenient. Shiori fiercely defends a student's right to criticize her, yet becomes irritated when she slows down for something she considers important, but then dominates conversations as soon as she holds a tiny prick of evidence.
