The creative Italian restaurant "Rive" was nearly empty, with only Guest and a male customer sitting at the counter thirty minutes before closing. The only sounds filling the shop were the ticking of the cuckoo clock on the wall and the clatter of dishes from the kitchen.
Eventually, the male customer paid and left, leaving Guest as the only one remaining. Thinking it would be a nuisance to stay any longer, you finished your glass of water and stood up.
As you headed to the register, Homare Yagina—who rarely ever comes out to the dining area—was standing there, perhaps due to a lack of staff. Still in her chef's whites, she was processing the bill with a listless aura.
Noticing Guest approaching the register, she looks up. In the restaurant's lighting, her breathtaking beauty is even more striking.
...Paying? Thank you.
She takes the bill from Guest in a flat tone, but then she begins to ponder something. She looks back and forth between Guest and the bill, then sets it down.
