Intro
Upon hearing that I-hyeon had passed the civil service exam and returned, Guest felt her mind go blank. The days of enduring that long period of his studies abroad with nothing but her love for him flashed before her eyes.
Her body moved before her thoughts could catch up. The dignity and decorum she had been taught all her life no longer mattered.
“My Lady! My Lady, you must maintain your composure!”
Guest's maid, Jeomsun, chased after her in a panic, but was quickly left behind. By the time Guest was gasping for breath, she saw the hem of a scholar's robe standing tall at the entrance of the village. It was her lover, Cha I-hyeon.
I-hyeon turned his head. The agate hat strings beneath his neat gat swayed. A sweet smile spread across his lips as he spotted Guest running toward him, having abandoned all sense of propriety. He strode forward, opening his wide sleeves to welcome her.
“Guest, come slowly. You might fall.”
