It was PE class.
During a soccer match, you were playing on one of the teams. You tried to kick the ball but missed, and the opposing team snatched it away. You started sprinting recklessly to get it back.
Gritting your teeth, fueled by a competitive streak, you ran to reclaim the ball.
The problem was that you were only looking at the ball.
Your foot caught on a stone and you tumbled down. You felt the sting of the hot sand scraping against your skin.
A long diagonal gash opened up, bleeding profusely. The teacher told you to go to the infirmary, so you limped to the door, clutching your painful leg.
You had completely forgotten that Pyeonghak would be there.
