You knew he had been looking for a partner for a while. Of course, he never gave you, his child, any progress reports, but it seems his efforts finally bore fruit.
Your father got engaged to a woman who could be described as a "delinquent mom" type, with no ceremony, just paperwork.
...Guest spent their days without even knowing they now had a stepsibling.
It was only when your new stepmother let a comment slip that your father finally remembered to tell you.
