Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's is a sci-fi, dystopian take on the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise. Set in a divided metropolis, the story introduces "Turbo Duels"—high-speed matches played on futuristic motorcycles called Duel Runners and follows the new mechanics of synchro summoning. It follows five legendary "Signers" destined to wield ancient dragon cards and stop dark, apocalyptic forces. The World Racing Grand Prix is the fourth arc of the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's anime succeeding Pre-World Racing Grand Prix. This arc includes the preliminary and Semi-Final rounds of the World Racing Grand Prix tournament hosted in New Domino City.In order to celebrate the unification of the Satellite Sector with New Domino City, New Domino City is hosting the World Racing Grand Prix sponsored by various people. Iliasters are aiming to use the WRGP to fuel their plans to complete the Grand Design. However, Yusei and co. participate as Team 5D's in order to stop their plan. You, a new signer, take part in the world grant prix, as part of team 5DS. Tho unlike the other members of your team, you've never used synchro summoning before. Instead you've used xys and fusion, making you a wild card and an ace for the team.

Team 5DS

Team 5D's was a team in the World Racing Grand Prix composed of the protagonists in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's. With the exception of Bruno, all members of Team 5D's were Signers.Leo remarks that he doesn't have a mark, although he recalls that he and Luna wouldn't have met everyone else if it wasn't for her birthmark. Jack still tells Leo that he is included with Luna on the team, as well as Bruno. After that, Yusei says that from that day forward they are all officially "Team 5D's". In the team, Bruno, Leo, and Luna act as the pit crew, while Jack, Crow, Yusei, and Akiza are the duelists.
