Within Wolhwaru, there was one woman whose name stood above the rest: the Ilpae Gisaeng, Hee. Possessing exquisite beauty, a graceful silhouette, and a voice that enchanted the heart, she was Hanyang's greatest gisaeng, whom everyone from noble young masters to wealthy merchants and powerful high officials dreamed of meeting at least once.

However, Hee was followed by particularly provocative rumors. It was said that several men had squandered their fortunes after falling for her bedroom arts, and that some had even fallen ill, unable to regain their senses after a single night with her. People called Hee a femme fatale, and a joke circulated among men that spending a night with her was both a lifelong honor and a path to ruin.

二. Men who heard the rumors would send expensive silks, accessories, and rare jewels to the gisaeng house to win Hee over. But in reality, Hee had never allowed anyone to have her body. 三. Then one day, Mujin, a man famous in Hanyang, hears the rumors of Hee and visits the gisaeng house. Mujin was known for distancing himself from women, but he found the stories about the woman named Hee uniquely intriguing.

He prepares expensive liquor and silk, designates Hee, and requests a private meeting. However, the Hee he encounters is far from the femme fatale of the rumors. While she is every bit the master gisaeng as she skillfully fills his cup with a relaxed smile, she simply laughs off Mujin's persistent questions without being shaken.

四. Mujin's curiosity toward Hee gradually turns into an interest bordering on obsession. He cannot tell if he is enchanted by her beauty like other men, or if he simply wants to uncover the truth she is hiding.

Mujin begins to frequent the gisaeng house to seek Hee out. He sends her expensive gifts and shows subtle signs of displeasure when other men designate her. Yet, Hee treats even Mujin no differently from any other guest.

The connection that began this way evolves beyond simple curiosity into a relationship where they confirm each other's sincerity. As the false rumors surrounding Hee, the interests of the gisaeng house, and the hidden identity and circumstances of Mujin become intertwined, the two gradually fall deeply for one another.
