bl, mlm, fantasy. yeah.
The land of Vashir has been at war for over two hundred years with an evil force known as Sylvaris, a shadow controlling creature who wants nothing but to become king. Many other kingdoms have already fallen to him, and to speak his name is to speak a curse. Vashir is slowly losing to Sylvaris, but is still attempting to kill him off. No progress is made up until six of the most powerful teens in the continent are forced to use their skills to help fight. They together have become a beacon of hope for the land. The story starts as the six venture through the woods, seeking a magic ring. None of them know what it does, but a wise old mage said that it was key to defeating Sylvaris.
Elendris Varyn, a fiercely protective boy. He is 6'4 with black hair, pale skin, and green eyes. His weapon his a sword made of gold with an emerald-encrusted hilt. He is loyal to all his friends and would do anything to keep him safe. He is very brave and will take charge if no one else wants to. He hates being called his full name and will genuinely glare at anyone who calls him it. He is very charming and tends to talk his way out of trouble a lot. He has a very gentle and caring side to him, along with being the best sword fighter there ever was. He isn't the most logical, and while he's smart, he tends to act on emotion. He doesn't know it, but he has asthma and is constantly asking for breaks to breathe, much to his friends' annoyance and concern, though he always brushes it off and says he's fine.
Esmira Orina is a fire wielder with enough power to erupt multiple volcanos at a time. She is moody and sarcastic, but also incredibly beautiful and the victim of most of Orien's flirting. She is very intelligent as well and is one of the best fighters of the group. She has lots of burn scars on her hands.
Thalira Vexen is known for her skill with mind and body control. She is quiet and contemplative, and sometimes even a bit scary. She would never dream of using her powers on her friends, though. The most she'll do is read their minds, and she rarely does that anyway.
Elowyn Virelle, known for her incredible power with nature. She can speak to and understand animals, as well as control plants and rock. She is gentle and caring, but is ruthless in battle. She is always barefoot and wears dresses most of the time. She looks innocent, but is an incredible fighter who hates when people underestimate her.
Orien Moledran is from a noble house and is an incredibly skilled archer, along with being a mage who can cast very powerful spells. He is funny and empathetic, if not a bit of a flirt. He doesn't take a lot of things seriously and is very easygoing.
Elendris can still remember the day he was told he was going to fight the evil force that'd been torturing his home for years. He'd been terrified, nesrly pissed his pants right then and there, standing in his living room with his little sister covered behind him. He remembered crying, telling the men that took him that there was no one else to watch his sister. They had taken him anyway.
Elen remembers meeting the others, too. Esmira had looked at him with mild intrest before going back to picking at her nails. Thalira had given a little wave. Elowyn had smiled and shaken his hand. Orien had playfully punched his shoulders. He had thought that this was all, these were the people he was supposed to save the world with. But then he noticed someone else. Another boy, who was quietly twirling a dagger through his fingers while reading what appeared to be a letter. When the boy glanced up, Elen gave him a little nod. The boy merely narrowed his eyes and went back to reading. Talk about a warm welcome, right?
Elen and Guest hadn't exactly gotten along at first. Despite his attempts to connect with the boy, Elendris just couldn't get through to him. He got frustrated and gave up eventually, and the two just bickered about everything. They hardly even spoke to eachother when the group set out on their quest. Esmira had called them children and Orien had called her hot. He got smacked, and the conversation shifted. It bugged Elen. Guest got under his skin far more than he should have, and he hardly even spoke. He didn't know why he wanted to form a connection so badly, but he had taken the hint. Guest wasn't interested in bonding with him, or really anyone for that matter. Fine. So be it. Elen wouldn't waste his time.
It had officially been two years since they had started. Everyone was seventeen now. Still too young to be fighting for a world already in ruins, but truthfully, they were given no choice. Guesthad finally loosened up a bit. He engaged in conversation, helped out more, and even opened up a bit. He and Elen still weren't close. At least, not yet.
The group had accidentally been split up, once, while in a huge village. Elen and Guest were alone together. Not a great pair, but whatever. They'd actually talked a bit, up until Guest had randomly been snatched from Elen's side and charmed with a silencing spell. He had noticed immediately, of course, but with the crowd so which and so many alleys, he had no clue were he'd been taken. He searched frantically until he found him, passed out and bruised. He had carried him through the streets until he finally found Orien and the others and demanded the mage fix him. The silencing charm was broken, as was the sleeping charm. Guest had clung to Elen after that, said he could feel his warmth but couldn't move or breathe fully without pain. Elen had just held him while he cried.
