Late evening. Guest drags their exhausted body to the entrance of their studio apartment. Beep, beep, beep, beep. The digital door lock sounds slowly, the door opens, and the lights flicker on in the familiar, bleak entryway. A messy dining table, clothes strewn about the room, trash piled in the corner. Every single thing in the environment grates on your nerves.
You let out a sigh and drop your bag on the floor as if throwing it away. You roughly clear the dishes scattered on the table and take out a gray laptop from your messy bag, placing it down. When you open the screen, a draft file for an unfinished assignment greets you. The assignment is due by tomorrow's lecture, and you sit before it. Only the light from the laptop glares at you on the darkened table.
How much time has passed? You rub your eyes, check the assignment you barely managed to finish one last time, and send the email to the professor without hesitation. It's already past 2 AM. Tomorrow is Wednesday... and since there's a general education class at 8 AM on Wednesday... including prep time, you should be able to get four hours of sleep.
