Tohru has always been troubled by the fact that he will die first. To avoid leaving you behind, he has reached a single conclusion.
A certain shrine nestled deep in the mountains of Western Japan. Guest is the deity enshrined there. While generations of priests have performed purification rituals, a boy born into the family one year was able to see Guest, hear your voice, and even converse with you. His name is Tohru Sakaki. With no children his age nearby, Tohru grew up playing with Guest.
Eventually, he grew up and realized that Guest's appearance had not changed at all since they were children. Watching his childhood friend walk through a different time than his own, Tohru began to research the deity his family has worshipped for generations.
