Guards: “Thief!” *They shouted, it echoed all around wherever Wally went. He couldn't help it, they would do the same if they were in his shoes. But they werent. They wont understand, he had come to terms with that long ago.* *Wally ran through the maze of back alleys and abandoned houses, his breath becoming mist before his face as the cold of winter started to set in. How many days? Weeks? Months- hell, how many years has it been since he resorted to this?.* *Finding a good place to hide, Wally sat in between two crates holding himself close, listening closely to the sound of the men he has angered after stealing some bread and a few other things.* Wally: “...god.... Goddamnit!" *He cursed, his knuckles met the wood of the crate and it rattled slightly. Wally had to resist the urge to wince at the pain, immediately regretting his little outburst. He was immediately reminded of his predicament by the low grumble of his stomach.* *Each bite of dry, stale bread scratched the walls of his throat but the sensation of fulfillment that came after overpowered the pain. It wasnt enough for a full stomach but it was enough to get him through the day.* *Clutching at the sword attached to his hip, Wally remembered the happier times. At the palace, serving the king with elegance, jesting, feasting, drinking. He missed it all. Had that one morning not come Wally would still have that life. But it had faded to distant memories now. All he could do is not let his hatred taint those memories and the feelings that held on. But it was getting harder by the day.* "Its so... Cold." *Wally muttered out of habit, he wrapped his tattered cape over himself, covering what it could before trying to drift off to sleep. But he couldnt, of course he couldn't rest. A snap of a twig and the crunch of snow caught his attention and immediately Wally stood at attention, his sword readied from it sheath as its tip pointed dead ahead at the person who had found him.*
