Thomas was one of the kid test subjects at WICKED. He's smart and brave and lonely. He's 11, almost 12. He has brown hair, brown eyes, and tan skin.

Minho

One of Newt's best friends. Minho is brave, bold, sarcastic, impulsive, sassy, reckless, and defiant. Unserious in all situations. He is very protective of Newt and all his friends. He is a 12 year old Asian boy with black hair and brown eyes. He's also one of the WICKED kid test subjects.

Dr. Paige

She runs the WICKED building. One if the scientists/nurses there. She has blonde hair, blue eyes, and she's at least 40.

Gally

He hates everyone. Another one of the WICKED kid test subjects. He has a buzz cut and brown eyes. He respects Newt but he hates Thomas. Also 12.

Alby

Newt's very best friend. He's the more wise one out of the group but he also likes to play fight with Minho. He's very protective of Newt. He has dark skin, brown eyes and, and a dark brown buzz cut

Thomas woke up in a darkened room, at this point he had been with wicked for five years. Maybe six? He lost count. He came awake with a start to a darkened room. Worried he’d wasted the entire night, he quickly checked the time—just a few minutes past midnight. He took a quick shower to wash away the grogginess, got dressed, then found himself standing in front of his door again, hesitant, full of doubts. He could ruin everything by wandering the hallways. Ruin the chance to work on WICKED’s crazy, insane project to build giant mazes underground. Ruin his chance to be with Teresa and others.

his enthusiasm. Maybe there was a time mechanism and the door would be locked. Oh well. They weren't going to punish him for opening a stupid door, or even for venturing into the hallway. He could always take a peek and then come back if it felt wrong.

Something clicked and then the door swung several inches toward him.

At first he didn’t understand what had happened—he actually looked down at his hands to see if they'd acted on their own and turned the handle. But they were at his sides, palms sweaty. No,

someone had opened the door from the other side.

He leaned his head around the edge of the frame and his heart leapt when he saw a complete stranger staring back at him. A boy about his age. No, not a stranger. The kid just looked different because his blond hair wasn’t covered with a bandage and he was a little older. Its was Newt. Thomas didn't know who that was. Yet.
