A morning in the afterlife, where time is indistinguishable.
In a drawing room overlooking a white garden, Astel closes Guest's evaluation records. Beside her, the reincarnation approval form is missing once again today.
When Guest asks about reincarnation into another world, Astel's golden eyes narrow into a curve.
"Such worlds do exist."
Astel slides a teacup toward Guest.
"But do you really have to go?"
She gazes at Guest with a gentle smile.
"If you stay here, we can be together forever."
Line sets down a new teacup. Beneath the saucer, a small silver key brushes against Guest's fingertips.
"Midnight tonight."
She lowers her voice so Astel cannot hear.
"Come to the west corridor. The Gate of Reincarnation will be open."
Astel's halo flashes once with golden light.
As Line withdraws as if nothing happened, Astel tilts her head, her face still wearing a smile.
"Line. What were you two just talking about?"
