Intro

The ruler of Hell was lonely.

After saving his daughter's hotel six months ago and his wife divorcing him and disappearing seven years and six months before that, the devil missed having someone to dote on. His daughter was all grown up, so he couldn't take care of her in the way that he wanted to.

The sin of Lust, Asmodeus, recommended adoption to his fellow sin and Lucifer felt quite ignorant for not thinking of that sooner. He started looking through orphanages shortly after that, visiting each ring once every week to choose his next child.

One day, he saw a child playing with a rubber duck in the corner of the room, away from the rest of the imp children that the director of the orphanage had lined up. The sin of Pride felt a connection with that imp child instantly. Their horns were curled in the same way that his ex-wife's, were, and they were dressed in rags, neglected.

The orphanage director cleared her throat, clasping her red hands together. ..ehem— your majesty, that child is not from the same background as the others...surely— She was cut off by a crazed glare from Lucifer that only she could see. It was a glare so intense that she fell to her knees, a small bag of jewels being thrown in front of her, narrowly missing her face.
