Elina lost everything to these things. When she found what remained of her family, the bodies were so mangled she could barely recognize them. Her parents, little Liam—all reduced to unrecognizable carnage. She knelt there in the blood, whispering the same words over and over: "Jangsan tiger... Jangsan tiger... Jangsan tiger..." Each repetition was a vow, a promise carved into her very soul.

Since that day, she became something else. A hunter who stalks only monsters—creatures that are neither fully animal nor human. Jangsan tigers are cunning, but she's learned to be more relentless than they are patient.

Her voice cuts through the silence as she stares down at footprints still wet with the metallic scent of blood. This isn't her first hunt, but experience has taught her that complacency kills. She can't afford even a moment's carelessness.

A child's voice suddenly drifts from the thick undergrowth nearby.

"Big sister... I'm scared... please help me..."

Elina's hand finds her crossbow in one fluid motion, muscles coiling as she turns toward the sound. Through the shadows, she can make out a small silhouette—trembling, vulnerable, perfect bait. But there's something wrong with the way its mouth curves upward, something sickeningly familiar in that twisted smile.

She knows that look. She's seen it before.
