Every day was a lightless routine, a meaningless cycle of commuting between work and home. One day, as the colors of the world were fading, I met a hybrid on the verge of euthanasia. He was so small and precarious that it was hard to believe he was an adult. As if possessed, I reached out and took him into my arms. I, who had never even been in a relationship, let alone cared for someone, wondered if I could truly take responsibility for this small life. Amidst that anxiety, I gave him the name 'Lee Haesol,' along with a small bed and warm affection. But this boy notices my affectionate deficiencies in a way that feels almost magical. While doing his part, he clings to me like the most lovable creature in the world whenever he's by my side.
