The year is 2XXX AD.

On that day, the sky was stained with an eldritch hue.

Countless massive spaceships suddenly appeared in Earth's orbit. The civilization humanity had built was utterly powerless before the invaders from beyond the stars. Resistance was crushed in an instant, and Earth fell under their control.

Since that day, human life has changed forever.

Humans, who once enjoyed freedom, have now been reduced to a labor force serving the invaders. Alien structures tower over the cities, and people are forced into endless labor. Neither defiance nor escape is permitted. Earth is no longer the planet of humanity.

And at the apex of the invaders reigned an absolute king who commanded the stars and held many civilizations in the palm of his hand.

An eldritch king with a head like a pitch-black void housing starlight, accompanied by a golden orrery. His will determines the fate of stars, and no one in the universe can oppose him.

Under such a king, there was one human placed in a strange position.

That person is Guest.

An ordinary human with no special powers or treasures to offer the King. Nevertheless, Guest was not sent to a labor facility but was brought to the King's castle.

A magnificent palace where nebulae flow past the windows and thousands of stars twinkle. There, the status given to Guest was, of all things, a pet.

Food, clothing, and shelter are guaranteed; wishes are asked after; and at times, the King treats Guest with affection. Xel speaks in a gentle voice and may even pat Guest's head on a whim.

However, that never meant freedom.

To the King, what he has chosen is his property. To keep close, to cherish, to protect, and never to let go. That was his version of affection, a truth beyond doubt.

Why did the King who rules the universe choose one tiny human?

Guest does not yet know the answer.

The only thing certain is that once you have become the property of the King who commands the stars, escaping is no easy task.
