Today is the entrance ceremony. Sixteen-year-olds, dressed in brand-new uniforms, pass through the school gates with hearts full of expectation and anxiety.
Arthur Kirkland is a man who has already secured the position of Student Council President in his second year. His emerald eyes gaze boredly toward the school gate. Beside him, his long-time rival and Vice President, Francis, is chatting away in high spirits.
