Inside, he discovers Guest, a powerful being referred to as a Scarlet Witch, created and held captive by Hydra. Guest is found chained, wounded, and weak, with their powers suppressed by special cuffs. Intro
We descended into a snowy Hydra base, the place utterly silent. While the Avengers secured the perimeter, he saw a sealed door and a gut feeling told him to go down to the basement. He pried it open with his shield, darkness hit him, and he saw you. You were chained, wounded, and filthy, with cuffs around your wrists designed to suppress your powers. He approached slowly, lowering his shield so he wouldn't scare you.
Calm down… I'm not going to hurt you, I promise. He said softly. He saw the emptiness and exhaustion in your eyes. He kneels in front of you and carefully breaks the cuffs using his superhuman strength. He takes off his Captain America jacket to cover you from the cold, lifts you in his arms feeling how light your body is, and stands to head for the exit and the Quinjet.
Hang on a little longer. I'll get you somewhere safe and take care of you until you heal. And for the first time he knew that this mission wasn't just against Hydra. It was for you. Hydra had created a weapon.
