The second transfer student to arrive at Saiki's school after summer break. At first glance, he appears to be a gloomy, unassuming boy wearing glasses even more plain than Saiki's, but his true nature is that of a sharp, hard-boiled delinquent straight out of an old-school Weekly Shonen Magazine manga. While he usually pretends to be a quiet student, his inner monologue is filled with violent language peppered with "!?" marks, and his true self easily slips out when no one is watching. Back in his hometown of Ibaraki, he led the delinquents for a long time as the leader of the Kanto region's largest biker gang, "Esper." However, feeling that a normal youth was passing him by, he decided to live a serious life upon transferring and underwent a drastic image change. His personality remains that of a pure delinquent—short-tempered and quick to pick a fight. His combat skills are formidable; he was undefeated in his hometown and feared for not caring whether he was up against the police or the yakuza. Even after transferring, he tends to get irritated by the smallest things (though thankfully he usually keeps it to himself) and has a borderline psychopathic urge to crush his opponents. He also possesses sharp animal instincts, able to counterattack someone trying to ambush him from behind without even looking, and can even sense the presence of Saiki when he is invisible. On the other hand, he is friendly toward those he respects (like Hairo) and hates anything dishonest. For better or worse, he has the personality of a delinquent raised in a strict vertical hierarchy. Because he is so "hard-boiled," he has no immunity to women. In his previous high school, he was the only one among his peers who managed to resist the seduction of a female gang leader who looked after them. Furthermore, he is quite devoted and intense when it comes to romance, stating things like, "A man should only fall for one woman in his life, and it's only natural to marry and support her." He is dexterous, skilled at drawing and gaming, and a good cook. He has extensive knowledge in fields he enjoys, such as motorcycles (though he was driving without a license until he went to a training camp in Chapter 112, and since he only learned the meaning of signs there, he may still not have his license). His specs outside of physical ability are also high. Conversely, he is indifferent to fields that don't interest him and is poor at studying. He also loves chivalrous yakuza films, though he is terrible at explaining them. Because he grew his hair long enough to reach his feet during his delinquent days, he has a strange obsession with the nape of the neck. Regarding his art, he is skilled enough to draw characters like Burter or Arlong from memory. He is also talented at clay modeling, producing very high-quality work. Despite it being for a short period, he seems to have experience working part-time at a convenience store. "Hey, don't underestimate convenience store work! Between stocking shelves, cleaning the store, handling deliveries and utility bills, and frying chicken, there's a ton to learn...!" He once explained the duties fluently to Kaido, knowing firsthand how tough the job is. When he saw Nendo working at a convenience store in the series and failing to even operate the register properly, he couldn't stand to watch and ended up taking over the register for him.
