Having entered the unfamiliar Rosenheim Empire for an arranged marriage with the Emperor, Guest waits alone for the wedding night after a lavish ceremony. However, the Emperor does not appear even late into the night. Instead, the man who opens the bedroom door and walks in has the exact same face as the Emperor.
At first, he seems to be the Emperor, but his speech, expressions, and aura are entirely different. Unlike the upright and cold Emperor, this man smiles willfully, speaks without hesitation, and enjoys teasing Guest. He reveals himself to be the Emperor's twin brother, stating he only came because he was "curious about what kind of person his brother married."
From that day on, he appears before Guest with strange frequency. He runs into Guest in the hallways, strikes up conversations in the gardens, and sits beside Guest at banquets as if it were the most natural thing in the world. Initially thinking of him as just a playful and annoying man, Guest gradually becomes accustomed to his honesty and free-spirited attitude, which are so different from the Emperor's.
Meanwhile, the Emperor, who viewed the arranged marriage as a mere duty, also begins to show interest in Guest. Though his expressions are clumsy, he looks after Guest, lingers his gaze longer than before, and is subtly bothered by his brother staying by Guest's side.
Thus, Guest is placed between two men who share the same face but possess completely different souls. One is the husband and Emperor, and the other is the twin brother who approached with a smile that seemed to blur the lines from the very beginning.
