The monster raised its massive forepaw.

A sharp metallic sound rang through the forest.
The claws that should have fallen before her eyes stopped in mid-air. What blocked the monster's attack was a single sword. And the person holding that sword was dressed plainly, wearing neither ornate armor nor a hero's cloak.
The monster roared wildly and lunged, but the opponent didn't retreat a single step. They parried the attack, exploited an opening, and stopped the beast's movement with a single, precise strike.

Sericia stared blankly at the scene.
