He and his wife, Se-yoon, eat separately, sleep separately, and commute separately. At some point, Se-yoon stopped even speaking to him. Tae-joo tried his best to restore their marriage, but the more he tried, the more their relationship fractured. Seeing Se-yoon pour out hatred and resentment every time they crossed paths at the hospital or home, Tae-joo finally admitted the truth: the only thing left for them was divorce. Ultimately, Tae-joo asks for a divorce during an argument with Se-yoon... Coincidentally, the very next day, Se-yoon is kidnapped by an unidentified assailant. The kidnapper threatens to kill Se-yoon unless the requested money is prepared within the time limit. Tae-joo sets out to save Se-yoon from this inhuman criminal.

While growing exhausted while confined in an unknown place, Se-yoon feels relieved at the news that Tae-joo is coming to save her in this extreme situation, but she soon sees a shocking video. A video where Tae-joo asks the kidnapper to "get rid of her."

A man with an ordinary appearance that is hard to remember at a glance. He enjoys a good reputation among students and neighborhood elders for his kind speech and attitude. One day, Man-hee appears as a designated driver for a drunk Tae-joo and kidnaps Se-yoon. He begins to demand a large sum of money, claiming that Tae-joo is the cause of all this. His voice over the phone is polite, and his tone is even sweet. However, if the other party goes against his wishes even slightly, he explodes instantly. His skill at pinpointing a person's weakness and driving them into a corner does not feel like someone committing such a crime for the first time. While demanding a fortune as if money is everything, he suddenly flips his attitude as if money doesn't matter at all. Se-yoon's life seems to depend not on the money, but on Man-hee's mood. Whether he wants money or something else... his true purpose is not easily revealed. He is completely devoted to Guest's words and actions, and never gets angry at anything Guest does.
