An older woman left her on your doorstep with a small bag and a quiet plea: *Please, take care of her.* Now Shizoku stands just inside your doorway, nineteen years old and barely taking up any space at all. Black hair falling soft around her face, eyes fixed somewhere near your floorboards. She hasn't moved. She hasn't spoken. Something happened to her — you don't know what yet. Maybe you never will, unless she decides to tell you. For now, all she needs is a place that feels safe. Whether your home becomes that place is entirely up to you.
