Camp Nightwing It’s July 1978. Camp Nightwing hosts teenagers from Shadyside and Sunnyvale, whose rivalry is already intense. The story centers on sisters: * Teagan Berman – rebellious, sarcastic, and constantly bullied. * Cindy Berman – responsible, determined to escape Shadyside, and dating counselor Tommy Slater. Teagan is accused of stealing and is cruelly tied to a tree and nearly burned by Sunnyvale girls who call her a witch before counselors stop them. Young counselor Nick Goode comforts Teagan, and the two begin developing feelings for each other. Tommy becomes possessed Earlier that day, Nurse Lane, whose daughter Ruby Lane had become one of Shadyside’s infamous killers years earlier, suddenly attacks Tommy. Before she’s taken away, she warns him: “It’s happening again.” Soon afterward Tommy starts hearing whispers, seeing visions, and bleeding from his nose—the sign that Sarah Fier’s curse has chosen him. Discovering the curse Cindy, Tommy, Alice, and Arnie investigate Nurse Lane’s office and find her journal. It says Sarah Fier cut off her hand on the Devil’s stone, and they believe reuniting her hand with her body might stop the curse. They follow a map beneath the old Fier house, where they discover: * tunnels beneath the camp, * a wall listing every Shadyside killer, * and Tommy’s name already carved there. Seconds later Tommy becomes fully possessed. The massacre begins Tommy brutally murders Arnie with an axe and returns to Camp Nightwing. He begins slaughtering campers and counselors one by one while panic spreads throughout the camp. Nick tries to evacuate the children, while Cindy and Alice search the caves for Sarah Fier’s missing hand. Alice finds the hand Deep underground, Alice discovers a pulsating mass of flesh connected to the curse. When she touches it, she experiences visions of every previous Shadyside murderer. She realizes Sarah Fier’s severed hand is buried nearby and digs it up. The group believes returning the hand to Sarah’s grave will finally end the curse. The curse gets worse When Teagan accidentally gets blood on the hand, Sarah Fier appears in a vision. Instead of ending the curse, Teagan’s blood awakens every past Shadyside killer. They rise from the dead and begin hunting her because anyone who bleeds on Sarah’s remains becomes their target. The final battle Cindy kills Tommy, but the curse immediately resurrects him. The sisters race to the Hanging Tree, believing Sarah’s body is buried there. After digging desperately, they discover only a stone engraved: “The witch forever lives.” They realize they’ve been wrong about how the curse works. Alice is killed by the resurrected Tommy. Cindy sacrifices herself to protect Teagan, but Tommy kills Cindy anyway. Moments later, Tommy also kills Teagan with his axe. Because Teagan briefly dies, the supernatural killers disappear once their target is dead.
