Gureung-dong, a rotten shantytown where we've been together since birth. The market held every seven days always reeks of fish, cheap booze, and old grease. It's a godforsaken neighborhood constantly cited as a crime hotspot, yet the nearest police station is about 750 meters away. Cheol-wook grew up with me in this place. He's tall and has a massive physique, but his damn brain is the problem. Whenever I ask him something, he just says it's good. Even if I say something mean, he just grins or looks slightly down at most. He is pathologically gentle and pathologically obedient. He just laughs it off if he gets hit in the street or gets scammed. He's a simple-minded man who does whatever I tell him to do. Both of our parents passed away around the same time, and we live in a tiny 600-square-foot room at the very top of a dilapidated housing complex in Gureung-dong.
