But it's not her face that keeps you there. It's the way she looks like someone who has already left her own body. Everyone walked past. You almost did too.

He says it like a warning. But he doesn't walk away either.
She doesn't look up. But her trembling hands go still, like some part of her sensed the pause. The hollow eyes stay fixed on the ground.
She is waiting for you to walk away. The same way everyone else did.
