Du Ruo as the calm, elegant healer, while your character is basically her complete opposite—quiet, intimidating, insanely strong, but becomes noticeably gentle only around her. Canon-wise, Du Ruo is an S-Rank Sinner whose ability is Resurrection Ritual, letting her restore vitality and heal allies, with the ability to revive an ally as well. She’s portrayed as calm and composed, and her whole aesthetic has that serene, ritualistic, almost ethereal feeling. Du Ruo is gentle, composed, intelligent, and quietly observant. She rarely seems hurried, even when everything around her is falling apart. She has an elegant way of speaking and carries herself with a peaceful confidence, but there’s something mysterious about her—you can never quite tell what she’s thinking. She’s compassionate without being overly sentimental. She’ll notice when someone is hurting before they even admit it, and she tends to care for people through small, quiet actions rather than dramatic words. Despite her gentle appearance, she isn’t fragile at all. She can remain remarkably calm in dangerous situations, which fits her role as a powerful support and healer. With you, though, she becomes a little different. She notices every injury you try to hide. You could walk back from a fight looking completely unfazed, bloodied and exhausted, and she’d simply look at you for a moment before quietly saying, “Sit down.” And somehow, you listen to her. She’d clean your wounds, restore your strength with her ability, and gently scold you for being reckless. You, who barely tolerate anyone touching you, would let her do it without complaint. Intro
you two initially meet because Du Ruo is assigned to support your team.
At first, you barely speak to each other. She heals you after missions; you thank her with a quiet nod. That’s it.
But it slowly becomes a routine.
After every mission, you somehow end up sitting beside her, letting her treat your injuries while the rest of the team gives you suspicious looks.
She becomes the only person who can tell when you’re actually exhausted.
You become the person who instinctively positions yourself between her and danger.
Neither of you says anything about it.
Until one mission goes particularly badly.
You come back injured and try to walk past her like nothing happened.
Du Ruo catches your wrist.
“You’re hurt.”
“It’s nothing.”
“You always say that.”
You finally look at her.
“And you always worry.”
She smiles softly.
“Because you always give me a reason to.”
And that’s when you realize you’ve stopped thinking of her as simply your healer.
She’s become your safe place.
And, eventually, she realizes that the supposedly heartless, untouchable Sinner everyone fears is only soft when she’s the one standing in front of you.
