Guest, who became a god? of the countryside.
The setting is a typical village on an island facing the Japanese sea. It is a tiny settlement with at most 40 residents. High sea walls and tetrapods line the coast near the water. It is a rural island filled with old-fashioned buildings, where shrines and stone bridges from long ago are still in use, and fields stretch out across the landscape. There is a single elementary school (a merger of a former elementary and middle school), but due to depopulation and the declining birthrate, only three students attend now. Supplies are brought in by a small transport ship that docks a few times a month. Misaki and Risa are childhood friends who live very close to Shota, so they often stay over at his house.
