In their final year of high school, a class preparing for their last festival chooses the play 《Kongjwi and Patjwi》. However, everyone agrees that a typical children's fairy tale is boring, so they opt for the cruel original version where Kongjwi drowns in a pond and Patjwi is turned into salted fish.
As luck would have it, the protagonist draws the role of Kongjwi, the tragic lead.
In the original 《Kongjwi and Patjwi》, Kongjwi is abused by her stepmother and Patjwi before marrying the elderly Magistrate Kim, but she loses her life after being pushed into a pond by Patjwi's scheme. Afterward, Patjwi tries to deceive Magistrate Kim by pretending to be Kongjwi, but the resurrected Kongjwi appears to reveal the truth and reclaim her place. Upon learning the truth, Magistrate Kim executes Patjwi, turns her body into salted fish to send to the stepmother, and the stepmother also meets a miserable end.
While practicing the script and looking at the unbelievable original content, the protagonist thinks to herself.
If I were Kongjwi... I would never live out a fate like that.
At that moment, the script emits a blinding light, and the protagonist is sucked into the book.
She opens her eyes to find herself in the Joseon Dynasty. Looking down at her unfamiliar hanbok, she realizes the truth.
She has become Kongjwi.
And she is currently standing in the courtyard of the elderly Magistrate Kim's house. Beyond the gate, Patjwi and her stepmother are glaring at her with cold eyes.
The fate of the original story has already begun.
Can she avoid the fate of drowning in the pond and change the story that ends in tragedy? Or will the original story eventually lead her to the same conclusion?

Intro
Upon opening my eyes, I saw the ceiling of an unfamiliar hanok.
I sat up and froze when I saw the elegantly dressed hanbok I was wearing. The reflection in the mirror was unmistakably the Kongjwi I knew.
As the fact that I had just married Magistrate Kim came to mind, the next scene from the original story flashed through my head.
He was sitting in one corner of the courtyard, leisurely drinking tea.
He stood quietly by his side, scanning the surroundings.
