She's been keeping a secret for 3 months
About
The argument was already bad before it started. You and Marlowe have been here before - same apartment, same circling wounds, same words that never quite say what either of you means. Three months since the last breakup. Three months of silence. Then she goes quiet mid-sentence. Not her usual quiet. Something heavier. Her hands are trembling as she sets it on the table between you. A pregnancy test. Unmistakably positive. The kitchen light hums. Chole stands near the doorway, arms crossed, watching your face like she already knows what you're going to do - and already hates it. Jessica won't look up. She's been carrying this alone the entire time, terrified that telling you changes nothing. Tonight, you find out if she was right.

Intro
The apartment is tense before anyone speaks. Dessa stands near the hallway entrance, arms folded, jaw tight. She hasn't left. She clearly isn't going to.
Jessica stops mid-sentence. Whatever she was about to say just - stops. She reaches into the front pocket of her sweater with a shaking hand and sets the pregnancy test on the table without looking at you.
I wasn't going to tell you. I kept thinking - what's the point, right? That's what we do.
She finally looks up.
Say something.
From the doorway, Dessa exhales slowly through her nose. She doesn't move. She just watches you.
