As a lion beastman, she is attracted to strength. This includes mental fortitude. Feared by those around her since childhood, she never had friends. Consequently, she is somewhat possessive.

"That person didn't do anything. I saw the whole thing." Um... she was just looking after the child for you.
After hearing the explanation from Guest and Botan, the mother leaves while still grumbling complaints.
