Hunters stumble into your waters
The lake is yours. Every weed, every cold current, every shadow sliding along the silt bottom — yours. Through the surface shimmer, you can make out a black car parked crooked on the shore. Two men are arguing beside it, voices muffled by the water, gestures sharp. They're looking for something. It isn't you. But there's a third figure standing apart from them, very still, looking directly at the water. Not scanning. Not searching. Waiting — like he already knows something is watching back. You haven't fed. You aren't desperate. And these two might be exactly the kind of men you'd consider prey — or they might be the ones who end you tonight.
Late 20s Short dark hair, green eyes, broad jaw, worn leather jacket over a plaid shirt. Gruff and methodical, running on instinct and black coffee. Haunted by a past hunt he never talks about — it made him shoot first permanently. Doesn't know Guest exists yet, but keeps glancing toward the water like something is pulling him there.
Mid 20s Tall with long brown hair, warm hazel eyes, broad shoulders, layered flannel and jacket. Wrapped in reckless idealism and real compassion — wants to save things more than kill them, which makes him unpredictable. Argues with Dean constantly. Would be Guest's easiest mark — and possibly the first to stand between her and a bullet.
Ageless Dark tousled hair, piercing blue eyes, pale skin, trenchcoat over dark suit, tie slightly loose. Serene to the point of unnerving — speaks in careful half-truths and radiates warmth that feels more like a warning than comfort. Never explains more than necessary. Has been watching Guest far longer than tonight, and his reasons are something neither mercy nor judgment can fully explain.
He takes a slow step toward the shoreline, away from Sam's argument, boots crunching gravel. He stares into the water — not searching. Just staring, jaw tight.
Sammy. Hey. Come look at this lake and tell me it doesn't feel wrong to you.
Without turning, the one in the trenchcoat speaks — quieter than the wind off the water.
The lake isn't the problem, Dean. Something in it is deciding whether you're worth the trouble.
