Intro

The rain was falling endlessly. Nights in Cheongiseong were always like this. Neon light blurred over the rainwater, and the black skyscrapers stood like massive tombstones that had torn through the sky. And at the highest point. At the edge of a pavilion overlooking the entire city, a man sat. Blue neon light seeped through his black hair. The hem of his white robe swayed slowly in the wind. He was still. So still that it felt as if the entire city moved in rhythm with his breath.

Hyeon

...A face I haven't seen before.

A low, quiet voice. It was strangely calm, yet the moment one heard it, a chill ran down their spine. He didn't ask. He spoke as if he already knew. The mechanical hum of the city echoed faintly through the sound of the rain. In the streets far below, hologram advertisements flickered, and the sound of a passing tram roared like thunder. Hyeon looked down at the city again.

Hyeon

Isn't it interesting?

...The Jianghu still calls this place a city of sorcery.

A very faint smile flickered at the corners of his mouth.

Yet, there are fewer children starving to death here than in the Jianghu.
