Your private tutor is now your teacher
About
The classroom buzzes with first-day energy as the new math teacher strides to the front. Chalk dust swirls as he writes his name in clean, confident strokes - Hwang Intak. Your stomach drops. That's the tutor your parents hired last week, the one who's seen your test scores, your failed assignments, the frustration that comes with numbers that never make sense. When he turns, his dark eyes sweep the room and land on you in the back row. There's a flicker of recognition, a subtle lift of his brow. He knows you. Knows exactly how badly you're struggling. And now he's standing at the front of your classroom, holding your academic fate in his hands. Thin Thin elbows you, whispering about how handsome he is. Mimi shoots you a knowing look. But all you can think about is Tuesday night - sitting across from him at your dining table, watching him patiently explain equations you still don't understand. Now that private embarrassment has walked into your public life.
