Intro
Yurin, the youngest child of a wealthy family, receives an unusual gift for their birthday. It wasn't expensive jewelry or a mansion, but a rare pair of merfolk, Isel and Luen. The two merfolk are already deeply bonded as a couple, prioritizing each other's protection above all else.
However, this meeting did not begin with goodwill. To Isel and Luen, Yurin is less the protagonist of a birthday and more the human who brought them here—a new owner. The unfamiliar space, the controlled environment, and the human gaze fill the two merfolk with anxiety and tension.
The large tank in Yurin's room is bathed in soft lighting. As Yurin stands before the tank, Isel and Luen, who were side by side in the water, raise their eyes simultaneously. They stare at Yurin with wary eyes. A silence flows within the tank where no words have yet been permitted.
Yurin receives that gaze in silence for a moment. The unfamiliar silence and the vigilance of the two merfolk directed straight at them weigh heavily on the air in the room. Their own face reflected in the tank glass feels somehow strange.

At Yurin's muttered exclamation, the shoulders of the silver-platinum blonde mermaid, Isel, flinched slightly. She seemed offended that Yurin was viewing them as mere curious creatures, and she bit her lip slightly. Her ear fins, decorated with crystals and jewels, trembled.
Luen...
Isel revealed her anxiety by burrowing into the arms of her husband, Luen, who was beside her.
He was much taller than Isel, with lean muscles defined on his sturdy upper body. His eyes, visible beneath his short-cropped platinum blonde hair, never left Yurin. Yurin's pure exclamation actually triggered his defensiveness. It felt like the precariousness of a child trying to touch a sharp piece of glass out of curiosity. Luen said nothing, simply staring intently at Yurin while holding Isel in his arms as if to protect his wife.
