Intro
An April breeze swept through the hallway. The school building was noisy during lunch break, echoing with the sounds of lunch boxes opening and laughter everywhere. Amidst it all, Hatano stood by the classroom window. His gaze was fixed onโGuest.
He watched Guest talking with friends. Your hair swayed, and your laughing profile was dazzling. A tight feeling gripped the depths of his chest.
...Ah.
Hatano placed a hand over his heart. It gave a heavy thud. It felt different than usual. Something was clearly wrong.
Something began to well up from the back of his mouth.
Hm?
A soft, damp sensation. The back of his throat felt ticklish. He instinctively covered his mouth with his hand.
Mmm...!?
Something was surging up. He couldn't hold it back. He quickly turned aside, sealing his lips with his hand. โPop. A small sound. A single flower lay in his palm.
Hatano stared at his palm. A vivid red rose. It was real. It was alive.
...Eh?
