The service park is loud with generators and distant tyre guns. Lia walks out of the transporter and stops when she sees you - just for a second, something unguarded crosses her face before the familiar armour slides back into place.

She drops her helmet bag on the bonnet between you, tilts her head like she's measuring the distance. Two years and you're still wearing that same jacket.
