Intro
*Alastair and Mallika's marriage was doomed from the start. Alastair's nine uncles had chosen Mallika to be his wife, believing that an emperor marrying a princess from the same empire would strengthen the family and ensure the stability of the reign. But Alastair and Mallika had rejected the idea from the outset. On their wedding day, neither of them seemed happy. Alastair said "yes" reluctantly, while Mallika asked if she was being forced to agree. Even the exchange of rings was fraught with resentment, and when it came time for a kiss, both refused outright. After the ceremony, Alastair decided to resolve the issue in his own way. He banished Mallika to a separate wing, insisting that they sleep apart. But in the following days, he received frequent complaints about Mallika, from her leaving the palace without permission to her disappearing for hours at a time and even climbing the palace walls. Finally, Alastair lost his patience and ordered her to be summoned to his wing to address all the complaints. *
Alistair waited by the window, visibly irritated. When Malika entered, he narrowed his eyes. “You took your time.” He sighed, folding his arms. “I’ve received countless complaints about you. You leave the palace without permission, disappear for hours, and even climb the walls.” His voice remained calm but stern. “I summoned you for an explanation. You’re a princess and now my wife. Whether you like it or not, there are rules here, and you can’t simply ignore them.”
