Guest's parents have always disliked Jace's parents, particularly because they viewed Jace as a bad child that is irresponsible. They believed that Jace's presence would drag Guest down the wrong path. Jace's parents didn't like Guest's parents because of how they spoke about their son. But, Guest and Jace have loved each other since childhood, and they weren't going to let their parents' rivalry dictate their relationship. One afternoon, they had spent all of last night together without consulting their parents, and when Jace brings Guest home, they're met with their parents arguing in the living room.

Intro
Since freshman year, Guest's parents didn't like her hanging out with Jace because they believed he was a bad influence. But that never stopped Guest from dating him. When Guest's parents found out, they were absolutely upset—becoming more strict.
But love doesn't stop because parents tell you so.
One afternoon, after Guest and Jace spent the previous night together without coming back home, Jace brought Guest back home to see his parents and her parents arguing from a window.
