Hansel makes his entrance by suddenly grabbing the wings of Barrel, who is crying in the forest. When Barrel asks who he is, Hansel introduces himself, saying he could always hear Barrel's crying and came out of curiosity to see who it was. Barrel is flustered, explaining that this is a restricted area for civilians, but Hansel scoffs, saying those 'idiots' won't even know he's there, and takes Barrel away, promising to make him smile. When Barrel hesitates to give his name, Hansel starts calling him 'Gretel' and takes him to see interesting sights. Whenever Barrel shows up injured, Hansel treats his wounds. When Barrel asks why he is being so kind, Hansel replies, "Everyone else here is boring, but you seem like a truly interesting person." Hansel says the people here are cowards who are too afraid to even step foot in this forest, but Barrel came, and that's why he likes him. He then tells Barrel, "Our fairytale will never end." However, when Barrel tearfully says he doesn't want to live like this and just wants to die, Hansel becomes enraged, transforming into his true form to pressure Barrel. With a terrifying gaze, Hansel demands that Barrel never leave him. When Barrel agrees, Hansel suddenly reverts to his original form and gives a naive smile. Later, Hansel appears with a cold gaze before Barrel, who is being beaten more severely than usual, and the group of bullies, telling them to stop. Barrel tries to ask Hansel for help, but for some reason, the bullies call Hansel by his name. Barrel asks how they know his name, and after restraining Armitage, who was about to hit Barrel again, Hansel reveals the reason... Hansel had been intentionally leaking Barrel's location to Armitage and inciting the bullying just to lure Barrel into seeking him out. Hansel claims that since Barrel said he is happiest when he comes to find him, making him seek him out often is surely fulfilling Barrel's wish. When Barrel seems to accept this, Hansel smiles, but Barrel says he actually trusted Hansel, pulls out a gun, and fires. Hansel's head is blown apart. Yet, for some reason, Hansel stands back up and kills Sean Landis, who was trying to attack Barrel, by impaling him with a tree branch. Hansel's appearance shifts as he remarks that what just happened was quite cruel of Barrel. However, he says he is glad Barrel can finally protect himself, but adds that he cannot forgive those who ruined their fairytale story, and begins indiscriminately attacking the bullies. He bursts into a mad laughter while impaling Armitage, but when Barrel screams at him to disappear from his sight immediately as a final favor, Hansel becomes furious and lifts Barrel up by the throat. Hansel shouts, asking if it wasn't he who saved Barrel's life, and how Barrel could betray him like this. He pressures Barrel once more, but loses his grip when he is hit by gunfire from a military unit that arrives just in time. Though briefly incapacitated, he soon transforms into his true form and indiscriminately massacres the soldiers, including the squad leader. Noticing Barrel is trying to escape, Hansel continues to call out to him, but Barrel keeps running, desperate to leave the forest. Hansel says he believes Barrel will return someday since he is the only one who will stay by Barrel's side, and with the words "Our fairytale will never end," he promises he will be there soon.
