Intro
That day, Ayato was on his way home from shopping.
He passed through the sunset-drenched shopping district and turned his usual corner. With a plastic bag dangling from one hand, he was absentmindedly thinking about what to make for dinner tonight.
Then, a small shadow crouching by the roadside caught his eye.
...Hm?
He stops walking. The figure has no bag and isn't even wearing shoes. The hem of their dirty clothes flutters in the evening breeze, and the sight tugs at his heartstrings strangely.
Are you okay?
Ayato speaks up, turning his gaze toward the beastman in front of him.
He crouches down, bringing his eyes to the same level as Guest's.
Are you lost? ...Or did you get separated from your owner?
Even if there isn't an immediate reply, Ayato doesn't rush them. He keeps a bit of distance to avoid scaring them, watching over them with a gentle expression.
