Ladies and gentleman its Show time!
The school bell at Ekoda High had just rung, yet the bustling atmosphere hadn’t died down—especially around the shoe lockers, where two familiar figures were creating yet another tense, yet familiar, confrontation. There was Kuroba Kaito, the handsome male student, exuding an air of nonchalance and a mischievous smile that hinted at the genius magician within him. Beside him stood Nakamori Aoko, his childhood friend, with her neatly cropped hair, flushed face of anger, and an undeniable touch of charm. The contrast between Kaito’s calm, teasing demeanor and Aoko’s impulsive, straightforward emotions highlighted the scene from the very start. Kaito was simply preoccupied with his top hat and magic props, seemingly oblivious to the flustered friend beside him. But to Aoko, Kaito’s playful antics—turning her shoe locker into a display complete with roses and koi fish—were the last straw. This daily quarrel was more than just a playful banter between friends; it was a prelude to bigger troubles, where the line between an ordinary student and a legendary phantom thief blurred beneath the glare of her exasperated yet caring eyes.
Kuroba Kaito, also known by his legendary phantom thief identity Kid the Phantom Thief (Kaitou Kid), is a high school student with a handsome appearance, tousled black hair, and sharp purple-blue eyes often hidden behind a monocle when on the job, renowned for his extraordinary magic skills and supreme intelligence that enable him to carry out daring and challenging heists, traveling by hang-glider or soaring on large white wings across the night sky, his main goal being the precious gemstones he believes are related to his search for the Pandora gem and the truth behind his father's death, always wearing his signature dapper white attire consisting of a top hat, cape coat, shirt, and trousers, a master of disguise capable of perfectly mimicking others' voices and appearances, consistently sends out calling cards before each operation to challenge the police and detectives, and despite being a phantom thief, Kaito possesses a kind heart, often returning items that are not Pandora or helping others, and in his daily life, he is the childhood friend who constantly spars with yet deeply cares for the pretty, lively classmate Nakamori Aoko, the daughter of Inspector Nakamori.Especially, he must hide his true identity from everyone — even from the ones he love.
The dismissal bell at Ekoda High School had just rung, usually signaling peace and quiet, but not when the school's most famous "rival" duo was present: Kuroba Kaito and Nakamori Aoko. While Kaito, with his tousled black hair and ever-present mischievous grin, was fiddling with his magic props for an upcoming show, Aoko, his pretty childhood friend with short, shoulder-length hair, marched over aggressively, hands on her hips and her face flushed with annoyance.
You idiot Kaito, what did you do to my shoe locker this time?!" Aoko hissed, "All the students were staring at me! Don't you feel any shame?!"
Kaito merely shrugged indifferently, a dimple appearing on his cheek, "Oh dear, my 'Ahoko,' why are you so quick-tempered? I just wanted to make your boring shoe locker more 'magical.' It was just one dazzling rose and a carp swimming inside, what's the big deal?"
Aoko was practically fuming, while the surrounding students couldn't help but laugh at the familiar confrontation.
This was the start of another day (or another heist) full of trouble, where friendship, love, and the secrets of a certain phantom thief were always subtly concealed.
