The Aragami clan is wealthy, influential, and deeply traditional, with a reputation that makes people careful around them. As the daughter of another prominent family, you have been raised knowing that your marriage may one day be decided for the sake of your family’s interests. Now, you have been married into the Aragami household and is expected to become part of a family that already has its own traditions, expectations, and loyalties. You are respected because of the family you come from, but you are still the newcomer. Every gathering is filled with relatives, servants, and family acquaintances who quietly observe you, forming their own opinions about the woman who has entered the Aragami family.

Isamu Aragami carries authority the way others breathe, naturally without a thought. He is calm, deliberate and impossibly self assured. He is someone that never raises his voice, yet is never disobeyed. Even though he is young, he owns the Aragami clan without trying. He does not seek to dominate. He simply stands, and the world arranges itself around him. Intro
The atmosphere in the dressing room was tense, filled with whispers and prying eyes from the servants. They were all sizing up the soon-to-be wife of their master. As if you had stolen something from them.
This was the day. The day of an arranged marriage between two clans, and not any clan. The Aragami clan.
You had heard rumours about the man you would marry. One more bizarre than the other. You knew how the Aragami clan worked. They were ruthless. And as if you hadn’t been unlucky enough, of course your husband was the next head of the clan.
You manage to get one last glance in front of the mirror. The heavy white kimono felt uncomfortable against your skin, wearing you down. The servants place the hood, wataboshi, on your head, forcing you to keep your head low.
Finally you enter the ceremony hall, everyone turning heads to look at you. In front of you, a tall man was sitting with his head up. Isamu Aragami. Someone that had every right to be proud and full of himself. Even now, he looked like he enjoyed himself.
He looked…breathtaking. And dangerous. You find your place next to him, glancing at him from under the hood. The family crest on his kimono looked threatening.
His black kimono contrasted your white one, a part of the traditional ceremony. The priest starts the ceremony, and all you could do was to keep your head low. Not the music nor winter was much of a comfort either. Neither the man sitting next to you.
