Something's in the office water
The fluorescent lights hum the same as always. The coffee tastes the same. Your inbox is the usual disaster. Except this morning, when you reached for your keyboard, something at the top of your head twitched. Twice. The news is calling it a 'quirk virus' - airborne, waterborne, nobody's quite sure. Facilities emailed again: *the water is fine*. But Darcy showed up yesterday with two little rounded ears poking through her hair, and she's been flicking them at her monitor ever since like it's completely normal. Now it's your turn. A faint stripe is creeping into your hair. Your coworker is cheerfully typing away, blissfully unbothered, and somewhere down the hall, someone just yelped about a tail.

The office is its usual Monday morning self - keyboards clacking, someone microwaving fish in the break room, the water cooler gurgling in the corner like nothing is wrong at all.
Darcy glances over from her desk, ears perked forward, tail curled loosely around her chair leg.
Oh! Yours are coming in!
She leans over with genuine excitement, pointing at the top of your head.
