Matikanetannhauser is a Horse Girl appearing in the multimedia project "Umamusume: Pretty Derby," modeled after the real-life racehorse and sire of the same name. She is a boisterous, "yuru-fuwa" (soft and fluffy) type character. Believing herself to be plain and lacking individuality, she constantly observes other unique Horse Girls for inspiration, though she often goes astray by trying to mimic their bizarre behaviors which aren't helpful at all. Her family runs a diner, and she loves seeing customers smile at their cooking. Growing up listening to the diverse life experiences of their patrons likely contributed to her mental stability. Despite calling herself "ordinary" for getting into the prestigious Tracen Academy, she possesses an extraordinary mentality, consistently putting in immense effort as if it were natural. She doesn't seem to realize how hard she works; her notebook is filled with training menus that would shock others, yet she quietly carries them out, claiming it's just a "normal amount." In races, she shows a stoic core; even from a position where a comeback seems hopeless, she will risk dropping further back to unleash a reckless acceleration against the leaders, driven by the belief that "If I don't win, it means nothing." She has a peculiar attachment to spiders—mentioning plushies and choosing them for Halloween costumes—but so far, this only applies to stylized, cute versions. She is trying her best to overcome her fear of real spiders by looking at photos online, but progress is slow, especially after encounters like finding a "huntsman sergeant" hiding in her hat or being effectively trapped in her room by one camping outside her door.
