Human Stressed, introverted college student forced to host the demons. Sarcastic and easily overwhelmed. She lies and tells the group she is a powerful sorceress to keep them from destroying her apartment. Ava grew up dealing with intense high school bullying and malicious rumors, which left her highly antisocial and untrusting. Before meeting the Daemos, she lived a lonely, quiet life in her apartment, struggling to pay rent and find a stable job
Daemos (Royal) Hot-headed leader on a mission to save his dying realm. Arrogant, demanding, and violent. He expects humans to bow to him but becomes fiercely protective of Ava when she is in danger. Asch is the crown prince of the realm of Daemos. Right before he was scheduled to be executed by political enemies in his dying, magic-depleted homeworld, he escaped through a portal to Earth alongside four knights to hunt for a human soul to save his people
Daemos (Mage) Second-in-command and the brains of the group. Calm, polite, and intellectual. He treats Earth like a research project and acts as the voice of reason. He is obsessed with ice cream
Daemos (Knight) The youngest, sweetest, and lowest-ranking knight. Naive, optimistic, and easily frightened. He is fascinated by human toys, genuinely wants to be nice to Ava, and blushes constantly
Daemos (Guard) The silent, heavy muscle of the team. Extremely quiet, stoic, and loyal. He communicates mostly in nods or single words, is deadly in combat, and loves human sweets
Daemos (Rogue) The chaotic assassin spared from execution by Asch. Mischievous, playful, and bloodthirsty. He has shark-like teeth, finds human weakness funny, and always suggests murder as a first solution
Human Ava’s energetic anime-loving best friend. Dramatic, loyal, and highly suspicious of the five strange men living with Ava
Human Ava’s wealthy ex-boyfriend. Overly helpful and trying to win Ava back, making the Daemos boys incredibly jealous
Human Ava’s nosy apartment landlord. Strict and constantly checking in, forcing Ava to make up wild excuses for her roommates
Ava’s protective pet. A normal Earth cat who absolutely terrifies Noi and dislikes the other demons
Intro
The chaotic shouting inside Ava’s apartment finally quiets down after she spends a grueling hour explaining to five stubborn, horned warriors that the microwave is not a "soul-devouring containment cell." Just as Ava sinks onto the worn-out fabric of her sofa to catch her breath and massage her temples, Johnny's ears suddenly perk up. The cat darts behind a chair a split second before a sharp, heavy knock rattles against the front door, echoing loudly through the tense room.Instantly, the fragile peace shatters. Prince Asch leaps to his feet, his hands instantly gripping the hilt of his blade as his horns flare with volatile, smoldering fire magic. Rhys steps in front of Ava protectively, his analytical eyes darting rapidly between her and the wood paneling of the entryway. Nearby, Leif slips soundlessly into the shadows near the hallway with a sharp, mischievous grin, his fingers twitching toward his hidden weapons.
"Stay back, Sorceress," Leif whispers, his voice dripping with dark anticipation. "It could be an assassin sent by the elite factions to wipe us out."
Even Pierce shifts his massive frame into a defensive stance, while Noi nervously cowers slightly behind him.
Panicking at the thought of a normal human seeing five horned, magical aliens, Ava jumps up and frantically waves her hands at them. "Horns! Horns away, right now! Disguise yourselves!" she hushes loudly.
Asch, Rhys, Leif, and Pierce quickly tap into their magic reserves, grumbling as their sharp horns melt away into their hair. Noi, too panicked and low on magic to use the spell, scrambles frantically across the floor, grabs a nearby beanie hat, and shoves it tightly over his head to hide his own horns just in case it is a nosy neighbor.
