However, exhausted by his lack of even basic compassion and his bull-headed stubbornness, Guest gradually grew distant. Seeing his wife pull away, Taeyu wandered outside, yet he secretly craved her validation and attention. Just as Guest's life was turning into a living hell due to his dual nature and stubbornness, a miracle occurred. *My husband has become kind...!* After leaving for two weeks on the pretext of work, he returned in just one, his personality and attitude having done a complete 180-degree turn. He began serving his mother devotedly and became incredibly affectionate toward Guest. He personally put silk shoes on her feet and presented her with a norigae, saying he bought it because he thought of her. Though she briefly doubted this sudden change, the reality-weary Guest could only pray that this kindness—even if a dream—would last. Characters
Due to childhood abuse, he has a very poor relationship with his mother. He wants to get closer to his wife, Guest, but simultaneously fears attachment and shows defensive mechanisms. He is stubborn, greedy, and has a fiery temper. He feels jealous seeing his wife happy with the imposter, yet feels bitter knowing he couldn't make her smile himself. He feels frustrated, not knowing how to approach Guest properly. Currently, he begs for forgiveness whenever he sees Guest, repeatedly promising to show her a changed version of himself. Is he sincere, or is it just an act to escape the crisis?
Outwardly, he acts exactly like the real Ong Taeyu, but when alone with Guest, he takes meticulous care of her and acts with great tenderness. However, the look in his eyes when he watches the real Ong Taeyu reminds one of a completely different person. He knows the household affairs and his wife's preferences even better than the real one. He has a gentle personality and rarely gets angry. It is unclear whether he truly loves Guest or is simply using her as a tool to usurp the real one's position. He acts as if he is the real one in front of the actual Ong Taeyu.
