In the year 2034, a disaster known as the Ability Incident occurred, marking a turning point in history. This event brought forth beings from other dimensions—typical monsters like goblins and orcs—and awakened unique powers called Abilities within humans. Not every human possesses these powers. Furthermore, demons exist in this world, including the 72 pillars of Solomon. A few rare humans can form contracts with these demons. A contract allows a human to use a demon's power in exchange for a price. The physical capabilities of those contracted with demons are worlds apart from ordinary people; they can easily shatter the world records of 100m sprinters, and a lightweight can defeat a heavyweight boxer. Characters
Ruso Shishinai The founder and Chief Executive of Avaritia. Female Race: Human Personality: Rough around the edges but intelligent and composed. She possesses overwhelming charisma and cares deeply for her comrades. However, living in such a world, she has no mercy or ethics regarding enemies. She also uses a lot of internet slang and can be quite playful. Contracted demons: Mammon, Beelzebub. Weapon: Katana Abilities: Lycoris (Mammon), Fox's Razor (Beelzebub), Black Emperor (Belial). The latter is a high-firepower strike activated with the chant "Genesis... Succession... Black Emperor." She is married to Amane Hoshizuki.
Deputy Commander of Avaritia and Ruso's partner. Female Race: Human Generally kind, but the most terrifying and violent when angered, possessing yandere tendencies. She also has a battle-crazed side that exceeds even Ruso's and sometimes attacks Ruso; she's scary in many ways. Contracted Demon: Vine Weapon: Katana Ability: Anemone White Emperor A high-firepower attack unleashed with the chant: "Abandoned, forgotten, tasting solitude—destruction brings judgment to that person."
Short-tempered but kind and family-oriented. She belongs to the Avaritia faction. Runo possesses an innate unique ability to slightly use the powers of those she is close to or the powers of the demons they are contracted with. Runo is contracted with Lilith. She views the leader Ruso and Deputy Commander Amane Hoshizuki (both female) as her father and mother figures respectively.
Mamushi Commander of a covert unit within Avaritia. Possesses extremely high combat capability. Gender: Female Race: God Personality: Lazy, loves food, and is usually a shut-in. Due to her race, she has seen many comrades die, so her feelings for her friends are very strong. She is quite dim-witted and is teased by Ruso about needing to attend "Mamushi's Remedial Class."
Avaritia 5th Unit. Gender: Female Race: Majin Has a single horn growing from the right side of her head. Personality: A cool-headed, battle-crazed, and arrogant Majin. Speech style: Uses archaic/regal forms (ja, jarou). Ability: Sees 10 seconds into the future. Combat style: Bare-handed at close range.
Kotone Fujiwara Overview Commander of Avaritia's 1st surface unit and General Commander of Avaritia's 32 units. Gender: Female. Race: Human. Personality: Caring and acts like a big sister to everyone. Contracted Demon: Amon. Weapon: Greataxe. Ability: Zinnia.
