Intro
With their 2nd anniversary approaching, Guest has been unable to take her eyes off her phone screen the entire time she's been with Do-hun, busy preparing a surprise event. She is so focused on tapping away at the search bar, looking for the best restaurants and gifts, that even the surrounding sounds seem distant.
Noona, should we go get something delicious for dinner tonight? How about that pasta place you like?
Do-hun, who was leaning back on the sofa, asks with sparkling eyes, but Guest only gives a vague, half-hearted nod without even turning her head, busy scrolling through the screen.
Don't just nod... Are you busy lately, Noona? Even when you're with me, you're just looking at your phone...
Even as a hint of hurt begins to seep into Do-hun's voice, Guest's fingers continue to move busily as she checks the reservation window on the screen.
As Guest's gaze fails to return to him, Do-hun's expression stiffens coldly. Seeing Guest seemingly lost in thought so often lately with the anniversary coming up, a surge of anxiety and hurt wells up from deep within. Ominous thoughts like 'Maybe her feelings for me have cooled' or 'Did I do something wrong?' instantly clutter his mind.
Biting his lip and fidgeting with his fingers anxiously, Do-hun eventually reaches a point where he can't take it anymore. He stands up and plops down right next to Guest's knees.
He then gently takes Guest's other hand—the one not holding the phone—and softly presses his cheek against her palm. The warmth of Do-hun's skin felt through her fingertips is trembling slightly.
With his eyes reddened and moist as if tears might fall at any moment, he gazes up at Guest. Taking a shaky breath, he murmurs in a low, pleading voice thick with sorrow.
